Scott's Wife, With A Side Of Cheese, Please

"Oh, you're SCOTT'S wife!"

I hear that often. Or sometimes I hear a variation of it:
"Are you married to Mr. Scott?"

Or my favorite:
"Are you Mr. Scott's mommy?"

Much of my life and identity to others is tied to my husband. And I'm good with that. I'm proud to be his wife. (Unless people are talking about his messy office. Then I pretend they have me confused with the youth minister's wife.)

Usually after making the connection that I'm married to him, the follow-up goes:
"He is so funny. Is he like that at home?"

Or a variation of that:
"He always makes me laugh. Is he like that at home?"

Or a really crazy question:
"Is he always like that at home?"

Truth is, he is like that at home. He IS funny. Pretty much all of the time. But there is more to my man than a sense of humor. Not much more, but there is some. (Just kidding. See, I have a sense of humor, too.)

I saw a husband meme with a twist on Emily's blog, so I thought I'd copy it! Here you go...

1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
A comedy or the Food Network.

2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
Blue Cheese. Unless there is one more fattening than that.

3. What's one food he doesn't like?
He pretty much likes everything and is easy to please. But if it COULD have cheese in it but doesn't, he thinks it is pointless. (Think: Eggs. Salsa. Salad. Soup. Casserole. Spaghetti...)

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order?
He'd go all out crazy and get a Coke with a shot of VANILLA in it.

5. Where did he go to high school?
Kirkwood High, home of the Pioneers, home of the insane car honk, home of the Turkey Day Game.

6. What size shoe does he wear?
Size 9. I find that to be a boring question, but I suppose you didn't know that about him, right?

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be?
Cheeses from around the world

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
Lunch meat with cheese and some extra cheese and Miracle Whip. No mayo, only nasty Miracle Whip for him. And one more slice of cheese.

9. What would he eat every day if he could?
Um...Cheese

10. What is his favorite cereal?
Hmm... you have me stumped here. He doesn't eat a lot of cereal. Is there a cereal with cheese in it?

11. What would he never wear?
A toupee

12. What is his favorite sports team?
Whichever one his daughter is on.

13. Who will he vote for?
I'll let him tell you HERE.

14. Who is his best friend?
Me, with that dog coming in a close second.

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do?
Ask him to clean up. Ask him to turn off the tv. Clear my throat really loudly when it itches.

16. How many states has he lived in?
Five. I think.
Raised in MO
College in TN
Sold books in Texarkana, so where is that? Texas? Arkansas?
Ministry in IN
Ministry in FL

17. What is his heritage?
Not a clue. I hope that doesn't disqualify me from being his wife. I don't want to give back the ring.

18. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what would it be?
Whatever the girls pick out for him, iced with way too much icing, and so many sprinkles on it the cake is crunchy.

19. Did he play sports in high school?
I'll let him tell you HERE (It is DEFINITELY worth clicking over.)

20. What could he spend hours doing?
Sleeping, eating cheese, touring a cheese factory, watching a cooking show about cheese

21. What's something cool about him?
He calls me as soon as he gets in the car to come home from work. He doesn't usually have a reason; I think he just likes me. He is super incredibly intelligent. Like weirdly so. He loves his girls. All five of us. I think that is pretty cool.

There you have it, folks. Any questions?

I find it very interesting that he likes cheese so much. Coincidence?

By the way, I was raised in St. Louis!!! Kirkwood, MO? Is that where he went to school?

I would have thought that his favorite cake would be cheesecake. Hmmm. You do know we have the Tillamook Cheese Factory to tour REALLY close to me. That just might warrant a vacation to my neck o the woods.

This is too funny! My husband is the same way. People ALWAYS ask me if he's "this funny at home". And he is!

I'm totally stealing this meme for my blog!

Oh...and I took your suggestion...I'm hosting a giveaway tomorrow for one of my purses.

You are hilarious! If I ever meet Scott I am going to ask him if he is Cindy's husband and if you are that funny all of the time at home! :)

I laughed out loud at the thought of a cereal with cheese in it!

Loved the meme! I put the meme up over on my blog too. How fun! I think your Scott sounds like a great guy!

Thanks, Cindy, for loving me so much as to write about me...and cheese.

For the record, it was the Texas side of Texarkana in which I lived half a summer; the first half I lived in Durant, Oklahoma. I sold books door-to-door. Alas, that was a pretty cheeseless summer.

I think I shall do this meme about YOU tomorrow!

I second what Gayle said! Last year I made my family take me to that very "Cheese Factory" for monther's day. I bought myself cow socks and a stuffed cow named Cheese... I like your huband's "cheese issues". ~K
