Weekend o' Fabulousness

I'm beginning to recover from my extreme exhaustion after an incredible weekend in San Antonio, Texas for the Beth Moore conference and the Siesta Fiesta. There is so much I'd love to share with you!

Truly, every aspect was amazing. Travis and his team led us straight to the throne in worship. I've been to several LPM conferences, and the worship is always a blessing I can't even describe.

Beth's message was- as always- powerful. I want to read over my notes again and write more on that tomorrow. For now, suffice it to say it was un-be-stinkin-lievable.And you KNOW she means bid-ness when she makes these eyes!Girls, seriously, if you have never done a Beth Moore study, I want to encourage you to do so. You will be changed and you will know your Father better. She is an anointed teacher and so much fun, too.

After the conference ended on Saturday, members of the blog community ("Siestas") had a special session with Beth and her gorgeous daughters Amanda and Melissa. We had our pictures taken with them in groups. (Beth and Melissa are in the front, Amanda on the far left. I'm in a denim jacket near the middle.) This next photo is when Bethie realized she was going to have her picture taken with ME and passed out from excitement.
We had such a fun question and answer time with the three Moore girls. I loved watching the dynamics between them and prayed that I might be the kind of mother my girls could respect and enjoy the way Beth's girls do her.

They are clearly an amazing family, and for more than one reason. One being THE HAIR. I kept thinking, "That is simply TOO much incredible hair to be in one family." Seriously, people, all three of them could be in hair product commercials. While sitting there, I broke the tenth commandment many, many, many times, I'm ashamed to admit.

Of course one of the best parts was simply having time with friends. I spent most of my time with Gayle and Amy Beth and Jenni, and now that I'm home I miss them very much and HATE that I don't know when I'll see them again. I'll write more about them tomorrow; this post is already going to be so stinking long.

Amy Beth and me

Getting to hug Sophie (aka BooMama) was a treat; I just adore her. She and Scott have a Mutual Admiration Society, so I relayed some messages back and forth for them.

(me, Sophie, Gayle...
I'm thinking we could be Charlie's Angels with a redhead, blonde, and brunette)

Loved, loved, loved getting to visit a little with Vicki Courtney. Her book Your Girl helped inspire a ministry I work with at church. If you have a daughter, you need this book! Vicki looks like she is about 17 years old (even though she has two kiddos in college) and was so gracious and easy to talk to.

(Vicki, Melanie, me, Lisa)

Big Mama's fabled hair is, indeed, amazing. (And she won the prize for my favorite shirt of the weekend.) And it was a treat to meet Lisa who has actually made two necklaces for me!

Saturday evening we had a pajama party with fellow Siestas. Kim and Patty had worked so hard and gave us such a fun evening. We heard beautiful testimonies, played games, and laughed ourselves silly. Our time there also gave us a chance to meet people we recognized from blogworld.

It was wonderful to chat with Lisa (aka The Preacher's Wife). She has blessed me numerous times and I can't wait for her book for minister's wives to be published next year!

Within my own blog circle, I often see comments from Mocha with Linda, and I kept thinking I should find her and get to know her; the comments she left for others always blessed me. We finally got to meet and talk about some of our mutual friends. (We pretty much said nice things about you, Lidna.)
San Antonio itself was beautiful, and I have a zillion beautiful memories I brought home with me.

More to come soon...

I didn't even notice Beth's hair in the photos... I was too busy being amazed at her high-collared jacket straight from Star Trek or sumpin'.
When we're famous, promise me you'll let me dress 200 years ahead of my time too, k?
Glad you had fun.
Even gladder you came home.

Sounds fun and like something that would make you really tired afterwards. :) How in the world do you remember everyone's names? You're such an awesome 'people person'

Sounds like so much fun! You're gonna be purdy busy moving all those people over to your "real life friends" list.

I know all those people were equally thrilled to meet you and your beautiful red locks:)!! I'm so glad that you had the opportunity to go. I attended this conference at the beginning of August via satellite case with my mom and sister. It was my first exposure to Beth. I'm going to do a study with some friends this fall.

So glad you had a great time! Love you!

Cindy,

Your post is wonderful. Heart to heart connections are wonderful aren't they. I count myself doubly blessed by all that transpired in San Antonio, including meeting such a warm and caring heart as you and your girlfriends... Blessings.

Looks like a great time. I've never done a Beth Moore study. Wait, perhaps I did one on the Proverbs 31 woman by her. That lady works me over. ;-)

Beth Moore looks nothing like I pictured her.

I am so there with 10th commandmenting this weekend you had, too! :)

I LOVE Beth Moore! She is truly an amazing teacher of the Word! I am so glad you had such an amazing time and got to see so many blogger friends!

Okay, I'm not breakin' the 10th commandment too much. I actually got to meet Lysa TerKeurst for the very first time this week and spend time with some great blogger friends, too! Isn't God just so good? Who knew that my life would be so blessed through my computer!!!!!

And thank YOU for being a part of that blessing. Your posts and your comments are always an encouragement!!!

Love,
K :)
